Pratt & Whitney is allowing the State to use the property to move up to 1000 vehicles a day through the vaccination line. Covid Testing The Town of East Hartford asks all residents to stay the course. Please continue to get tested for COVID-19, wear a mask, wash your hands and maintain social distancing. Free COVID-19 testing is available in the Town Hall parking lot on Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. There will be additional testing on Saturday, January 30, 11 AM to 3 PM at Hockanum Park, in the Terry Pool parking lot at 310 High Street. East Hartford Youth Services EHYS, with the East Hartford Health Department, invites you to participate in weekly educational support sessions relative to the COVID-19 pandemic, starting on February 3rd, 2021. This support group is a space for individuals to get mental health resources and support as well as public health information regarding COVID. This could include peer support regarding feelings of isolation and loneliness, grief and loss support, tips on stress reduction, tips on helping members maintain relationships and connection to others and their community, as well as educational information such as how to help prevent the spread of COVID, symptoms of COVID, dealing with a diagnosis, testing locations, and information related to COVID vaccination, and more. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) provides free tax preparation services for individuals and families earning up to $57,000 per year in the Greater Hartford region. This is a 4 week program where they will help unemployed and under-employed clients gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment. With the addition of the ERP to the Dress for Success Hartford portfolio of programs, women will have access to support and services for every phase of their professional lives, starting with the job search and leading to sustained employment and self-sufficiency. The ACTION line is a centralized phone number answered by 2-1-1 staff trained to offer an array of supports and options to individuals in distress, including telephonic support; referrals and information about community resources and services; warm-transfer to the Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) of their area; and, when necessary, direct connection to 911 Any individuals seeking immediate response to a mental health and/or substance use issue can contact the ACTION line team at 2-1-1 or 1-800-HOPE-135,” said DMHAS Commissioner Miriam Delphin-Rittmon. “Immediate access to local support and resources is vital in assisting those in crisis. I encourage anyone who needs help to reach out because support is available,” she concluded. The ACTION line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with the availability of multilingual staff or interpreters as needed.
